MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION:

The primary purpose of I-ENG-A® is to provide a vehicle from which independent engineering firms can become qualified and recognized as part of a national entity. Insurance companies, because of the broad base of their operations, need to have access to services nationwide which they can depend on for consistent procedures, uniform reporting methods, predictable billing standards and the basic level of specialty expertise to meet the needs of assignments. They have not been able to draw upon local engineering firms due to the small number with investigative training. The current method of having qualified engineers travel great distances and sometimes stay on location for extended periods of time places is not cost-effective and puts companies in the position of being very selective as to the assignments they give out. Yet they recognize that there are thousands of claims on which the services of an investigative engineer could have saved substantial amounts of money.
